When it comes to clothing people are smart to be picky. What one wears shapes peoples’ perceptions, and a bad outfit can mean an even worse first impression. With so many new fashion choices out there these days it’s tough enough to sift through the crap in order to find something that works. When it comes to deciding what looks best on us it’s easy to make to wrong decision. What you see isn’t necessarily what other will see.
For many men, who were first clothed by their mothers, then by their girlfriends, making any fashion decision is tough. This past year, for example, mens leather vests have been all the rage. Countless Hollywood stars have been photographed wearing leather vests, and every shop in the mall is sporting them on their racks.
Here are some comments from “normal guys” on the topic of whether men should wear vests:
“If you have anything other than a well-defined six pack, vests are out.”
“If you’re riding a Harley and the vest is leather no one will argue with you.”
“Having vests to wear with your suit adds an extra element to your wardrobe which gives you far more flexibility I changing you look on a daily basis.”
“As I grow older vests begin having a certain appeal. Older men can easily pull off a sweater vest and make it work.”
Men obviously have mixed feelings about wearing vests, and we all know it takes confidence to pull off donning a daring fashion item like a leather vest. But as those in Hollywood would tell you “if the vest fits, then wear it.”
