According to the latest information I’ve read apparently leather motorcycle vests are very popular cycle gear apparel not only with motorcyle enthusiast but also as an everyday fashion statement. It may be that I don’t get outside of my motorcycling community enough but this is a phenomenum that I personally have not observed. Sure, I have seen the celebrity photos with the “flash-in-the-pan” wanabe icons of the day adorned in a black leather vest but in real America the image is owned by motorcycle enthusiast and those you want to be part of that culture..
Leather Motorcycle Vests are almost exclusively worn by a particular type of motorcycle devotee, the cruiser style motorcycle riders; particularly Harley Davidson riders and to a lesser extent other cruiser brands. Motorcycle Leather Vests though serving as light weight protective riding apparel during the dog days of riding season protray the classic biker image. That image is furthered by the decorative signs, patches and emblems that signal a riders loyalties, political attitude and speach that is charished by American motorcycle riders. When you dawn a leather motorcycle vest you state your love of freedom and support for the brotherhood / sisterhood of fellow riders.
If you don’t ride a motorcycle and wear a Leather Motorcycle Vests what are you trying to say?
