cf5000-black-2.jpgMotorcycle accidents have become a part and parcel of urban life in these last few decades. Many have lost their lives while some hundreds have been gravely injured. Much research has been initiated in this field by those concerned, and therefore a few safety gears have been manufactured for the benefit of motorcyclists.

One such example is that of the textile jacket that can lessen the impact of accidents and the subsequent injuries. It is on its way to becoming a standard precaution gear, and might be proclaimed as a necessary requirement for motorcyclists.

b7885-ladies-1.jpgBefore purchasing a ladies motorcycle jacket, do make sure you test the quality of the stitching of the jacket. Now, assessing the quality of the stitching does not mean simply checking whether the stitches are present or not. The assessment will have to done while keeping the basic purpose of the ladies motorcycle jacket in mind.

The first thing that you should do is check whether the jacket has been properly stitched. If there is evidence of stitches being dropped at regular intervals in your ladies motorcycle jacket, then the jacket that you are holding your hand is a poor quality product. Read the rest of this entry »

b7541-retro-chaps.jpgLike most motorcycle enthusiasts I’m really getting anxious for the warm sunny days that are bound to eventually get here.  We’ve still got the shoulder season to get through too.  That’s the time of year that it is too cold in the morning but can get too hot in the afternoon.  I know, most people call that spring and fall but none-the-less it is the time of year that poses an apparel dilemma for motorcycle riders.

I admit that I like the freedom of the hot summers because I really don’t like wearing a lot of cycle gear.  Usually I just wear a motorcycle helmet, light leather vented gloves, eye protection and 6” high motorcycle boots; that’s it as far as the protective gear goes. b7244-brown-emboss-1.jpgMotorcycle jackets are, of course, an essential item for motorcycle riders and reflect the personality of the wearer. There are many other considerations however, apart from good looks. High on the list of priorities is how well the jacket will protect you in the event of an accident. Is the jacket comfortable when riding and suitable for both summer and winter wear? Motorcycle jackets are expensive so they should be durable and last for many years.

cycle-gear-photo.jpgSince the dawn of the age of motorcycling, it was apparent that something was needed to protect the exposed human body from the elements. The natural solution was leather. The leather motorcycle jacket, a style made popular by such movie icons as James Dean and “the Fonz”, not only serves as a fashion statement, but is an essential piece of equipment to any serious biker for keeping warm, dry, and in one piece. A good “riding grade” leather jacket combined with motorcycle chaps or leather pants, will act as a second skin between you and the road, and can quite literally “save your hide”. With all this in mind, let’s explore the things to consider when purchasing motorcycle leathers. Read the rest of this entry »

cf-504-black-1.jpgAs it is seen so often, motorcycles fall into accidents quite often because they are basically unstable vehicles. So when you ride a motorcycle make sure that you have enough protective gear.

However with all updated technology and engineering, protective gears are available that will ensure that you have a smooth sail while on a motorcycle. A motorcycle ride is now much less dangerous.

In most countries it is a legal offence to be traveling without protective gear. It is for your own protection so wear them while motorcycling. The gear comprises of helmets, jackets, pants, gloves and boots. So, more or less every inch of your body will be protected in case of minor accidents. Read the rest of this entry »

Achieving the “Bad Boy” Look

Nothing turns some women on more than a man who emanates that “bad boy” aura.  Being a bad boy is all about attitude, but it’s also important that you look the part!  No self respecting bad boy drives a 1992 Honda Accord, he rides a motorcycle.  It’s not one of those little dirt bikes or an enormous BMW motorcycle with 20 different compartments and a cooler.  The bad boy drives a real motorcycle, whether it’s a classic design or something with a bit more contemporary style; it has to look sleek.  It’s also important for your apparel to match your attitude, this means wearing motorcycle jackets, jeans, plain t-shirts, and some stylish sunglasses.

With this bad boy look, you’re sure to attract all the ladies wherever you go.  And rest assured, you’re going to need a second motorcycle helmet; so make sure you look into that as well!
